Canon introduces the PowerShot G15 and PowerShot SX50 HS, two new compact cameras in the upper class. The PowerShot G15 is equipped with the currently brightest 1:1, 8-2, 8 lenses of the PowerShot G-series, with 5x optical zoom. The PowerShot SX50 HS is the first Canon compact camera with a 50x optical zoom, innovative manual control options and RAW recording format. Both models will replace the respective predecessor PowerShot G12 and PowerShot SX40 HS.
The bright 1:1, 8-2, 8 lens PowerShot G15 uses for optimized transmission of wavelengths in the nanometer range lenses with a high refractive index and a multiple coating. The 5x optical zoom is ideal for many shooting situations, providing an open aperture of 1:1.8 at 28-mm wide-angle focal length 1:2.8 or a maximum of 140 millimeters.
The PowerShot SX50 HS is on the other hand, according to Canon, a recommendation for all who wish to make detailed, crisp and clear images of distant subject’s right. With 13 lenses arranged in ten groups, including three UD lenses, wants the most powerful zoom in a compact camera points. A new ultrasonic motor (USM) and Voice Coil Motor (VCM) ensure fast and virtually silent zooming when the KB-24mm-equivalent focal length is in the 1,200-millimeter super-telephoto focal length. The optimized zoom PowerShot SX50 HS Assistant now works with two slightly -- buttons on the lens, a memory and a search button, which are ideal for the subject acquisition for telephoto shots.
