Canon PowerShot G15 and SX50 HS - Upper class

 PowerShot SX50 HS

Canon introduces the PowerShot G15 and PowerShot SX50 HS, two new compact cameras in the upper class. The PowerShot G15 is equipped with the currently brightest 1:1, 8-2, 8 lenses of the PowerShot G-series, with 5x optical zoom. The PowerShot SX50 HS is the first Canon compact camera with a 50x optical zoom, innovative manual control options and RAW recording format. Both models will replace the respective predecessor PowerShot G12 and PowerShot SX40 HS.

The bright 1:1, 8-2, 8 lens PowerShot G15 uses for optimized transmission of wavelengths in the nanometer range lenses with a high refractive index and a multiple coating. The 5x optical zoom is ideal for many shooting situations, providing an open aperture of 1:1.8 at 28-mm wide-angle focal length 1:2.8 or a maximum of 140 millimeters.

The PowerShot SX50 HS is on the other hand, according to Canon, a recommendation for all who wish to make detailed, crisp and clear images of distant subject’s right. With 13 lenses arranged in ten groups, including three UD lenses, wants the most powerful zoom in a compact camera points. A new ultrasonic motor (USM) and Voice Coil Motor (VCM) ensure fast and virtually silent zooming when the KB-24mm-equivalent focal length is in the 1,200-millimeter super-telephoto focal length. For maximum distance Zoom Plus expanded while maintaining a really high image quality, Canon, the digital zoom to 100 x magnifications.

The optimized zoom PowerShot SX50 HS Assistant now works with two slightly -- buttons on the lens, a memory and a search button, which are ideal for the subject acquisition for telephoto shots. When holding the new search button, the camera zooms out of the scene so that the subject and image composition can be rearranged before recording the images. Once the button is released, the camera zooms back to the subject. The new memory key activates the optical Image Stabilizer mode to ensure sharp images when shooting at maximum telephoto.

The Canon optical Image Stabilizer to compensate for camera shakes in both models with photos and movies. Intelligent IS automatically detects the shooting conditions and selects seven modes of the appropriate Image Stabilizer mode. The PowerShot SX50 HS is equipped with a new and improved Dynamic IS mode feature that compensates for rotation and tilt, which can typically occur when shooting while walking.

Both models are equipped with Canon's HS System is a powerful combination of high light-12.1-megapixel CMOS sensor and powerful DIGIC processor 5. The PowerShot G15 is equipped with a new extremely light sensitive Canon equipped 1/1, 7-type CMOS sensor, which allows a higher light absorption than the previous model. An ISO sensitivity of up to ISO 12800 (PowerShot G15) and ISO 6400 (PowerShot SX50 HS) allows photography with fast shutter speeds and faster continuous shooting, even in low light.

The optimized autofocus (AF) system in both models facilitates precise-focus shots. The PowerShot G15 is a based on CIPA Standards AF speed of only about 0.17 seconds at wide angles, a reduction of 53 percent compared to the PowerShot G12, the fastest compact camera Canon has ever produced. Precise shooting of fast-action subjects to the PowerShot G15 with up to ten frames per second to create, the PowerShot SX50 HS with up to 13 frames per second.

Both cameras have similar control options as some of Canon EOS DSLR cameras and allows you to manually set aperture, shutter speed, white balance and ISO sensitivity.
